Thank you, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., for being truly fantastic human beings!

“Let’s do this”, the actress captioned a photo of Evans, 34, and Downey Jr, 51, at an airport tarmac on their way to San Diego.

Gwyneth first hinted at the visit when she reposted a photo and message from a friend of Ryan’s. Even Downey, Paltrow’s “better work half”, was beaming even though Wilcox was clearly Team Cap.

She wrote: “He absolutely LOVES Captain America and the Avengers and what we want for Ryan if possible is to meet the actors and actresses of the Avengers, especially Chris Evans who plays Captain America”. “Please share this to help get the attention of Chris, Robert, Scarlett, and the rest of the Avengers cast and try to make his dream come true!”

Today Paltrow brought both Evans and Downey Jr. together for a real-life superhero mission, meeting a very special fan named Ryan Wilcox.

Ryan Wilcox, 18, who is fighting against a rare blood disorder called secondary Myelodysplastic Syndrome or MDS, received a superheroes visit on Monday. “So thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart”, Evans said. He’s cooler than I could ever hope to be. The trio spent the afternoon hanging out with Wilcox and his family and signed a few autographs – including one on his bedroom wall.
