Prosecutor Michael McMahon called the seven-year sentence “a good result” and said Durst would now face extradition to Los Angeles where he will be face charges that he murdered a former confidante, Susan Berman.

The acceptance of the deal is another step toward Durst’s extradition to California, where he is wanted in the murder of his friend and onetime spokewoman Susan Berman in 2000. In 2003, a jury in Galveston, Texas, acquitted him of murdering his neighbour, Morris Black, even after Durst admitted dismembering Black’s corpse and throwing the pieces into Galveston Bay.
The weapons charge stems from past year, when Durst was arrested on the eve of the broadcast of the final episode of The Jinx. Durst is expected to go on trial on murder charges this summer in California.
Previous filings show Durst, 72, has made a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in Louisiana.

“What we’re doing and have been trying to do from the start is get Bob Durst to Los Angeles”, Mr. DeGuerin said after the hearing, according to the Associated Press.
A convicted felon with firearm charge, has a max sentence of ten years. “Killed them all, of course”, Durst said. After agreeing to a plea bargain, he will serve 85 months in federal prison.

“By an agreement between several jurisdictions, there will be no other prosecutions of Bob Durst and he will be transferred to California for trial on the Susan Berman murder accusation”, the statement read.
