Robert Kirkman jokes The Walking Dead will end when he dies

Among the topics the Kirkman and Meyers discussed was Kirkman’s experience adapting his hit Walking Dead comic into a television series.

“This is going to be the most intense season of “The Walking Dead” yet”, Kirkman said of season six, which premieres on October 11.

In promotion of The Walking Dead’s sixth season debuting this Sunday on AMC, series writer and creator, Robert Kirkman, appeared Late Night with Seth Meyers. “There’s big cliffhangers at the end of every episode and it’s just a lot of cool stuff”. Now that the New York Comic Con has kicked off, we have a lot more to show you from the company’s partnership with the popular comic/TV property, including a Negan figure(!) and several incredibly detailed construction sets. “Just continue to decay them up”.

He was also cagey about the potential of seeing Negan in season 6: “I think it’d be cool for Negan to be introduced into the show, I don’t know when that’ll happen”. He also added jokingly that he’d love Ed O’Neill for the role. She’s become a bridge between Rick’s group and the Alexandria group, and we’ll see more of that moving forward. “I would say decapitation, but that’s not all of it. Norman [Reedus] is a jerk”.

When asked whether we might see more companion shows set on other continents like Europe or Asia, Kirkman demurred, “If I did [know of plans for that], I certainly couldn’t say that here”, he teased.

Robert Kirkman on Fear The Walking Dead season 2: “Just because it’s taking place on a boat doesn’t mean they’re going to be on the boat all the time”.

As for where the concept of Fear the Walking Dead came from, the main thing Kirkman wanted to do was address something which always bugged him on Walking Dead. Overall, the theme of the discussion was MORE of everything. However, I do enjoy the idea of having two great shows for The Walking Dead and a few great twists and turns in the comic book.
