The New England Patriots are two weeks removed from a win over the Indianapolis Colts and likely won’t face them again until 2016, but that isn’t going to stop team owner Robert Kraft from taking shots at a franchise he has beaten up on for years.
“There’s nothing more satisfying than saddling the Indianapolis Colts with a loss”, Kraft said after recounting McGinest’s game-saving tackle against the Colts in 2003. The ceremony was to honor former Patriots great Willie McGinest.
While Kraft was reportedly referring to the Patriots’ 2003 win over the Colts that saw McGinest and the Patriots defense come up with a clutch goal-line stand, the sentiment translated to the present-day Pats. A league investigation stated that the Patriots had “participated in a scheme to tamper” with game balls, which prompted the NFL to levy a four-game suspension on quarterback Tom Brady.
The Patriots punched the Colts 34-27 on week six. The Patriots defeated the Dolphins 36-7 Thursday in Foxborough.
While Kraft spoke about McGinest – his first ever draft pick (fourth overall in 1994) – he mentioned the rival Colts.

“I remember in Peyton’s day, there was an unnamed team (the Patriots), we were running the no huddle and the team we were playing was faking injuries to slow us down”, said Irsay in an October interview.
