Robert Kraft trolls the Mannings after Peyton’s Super Bowl win

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has not made any decision on his future, but if he decides to retire, Hall of Fame general manager Bill Polian believes that he can make a seamless transition to general manager for an National Football League franchise.

Asked about it by ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Kraft had a snappy comeback about that second ring.

The reason I say that is, during our 14 years together in Indianapolis, he would often discuss with me prospects coming out in the draft, SEC players he’d seen, players he’d seen in other parts of the country. “He has two sons who have won two Super Bowls [each]. But with all due respect, we’ve got one son who’s won four”.

Yeah, that’s a little bitterness seeping through.

He’s not wrong. Peyton Manning has two rings, Eli Manning has two rings, and Tom Brady has four rings. “We’ve won seven division titles in a row, so I am pretty proud that, in my opinion, we have the greatest coach [Bill Belichick] and greatest quarterback of all time”. He may not always be right, but at least he’s entertaining. While Brady boasts a 22-9 overall record in the playoffs, he’s 2-5 vs. Eli and Peyton. Manning said he wanted to drink a Budweiser after the game.

But, Kraft just couldn’t resist. But if the Patriots had taken care of business in Week 17 against the Dolphins, they would have locked up home field for the playoffs. That’s what happened when the Patriots lost their regular season finale, and it ultimately meant that they had to go to Denver for the conference title game – something that very well could have been a big factor.
