Robert Lewandowski scores game-winning goal in 90th minute

Hoffenheim forward Kevin Volland scored after nine seconds, capitalizing on a poor back pass from David Alaba to match the fastest German league goal ever scored.

Volland’s super early goal matched the record set by Bayer Leverkusen’s Karim Bellarabi on the opening day of last season at Borussia Dortmund.

The unsafe Muller had a goal disallowed for handball, but substitute Lewandowski won it after 89 minutes as Bayern extended their unbeaten record over Hoffenheim and made it two Bundesliga victories out of two.

Hoffenheim then wasted the chance for an historic first win over Bayern when Eugen Polanski blasted his penalty attempt off the post.

Having spared Bayern’s blushes, Lewandowski said they showed their mettle after fighting back to deny Hoffenheim an historic first win over the Bavarian giants.

The biggest of those problems arrived in the 75th minute when Boateng handled the ball inside the area, earning a second yellow card in addition to giving away a penalty. “It was one of the best Bundesliga games in the past three years”. “We can only learn from that, it wasn’t the best start but we had 93 minutes to make it right”.

A perfectly struck 17th-minute free kick from specialist Hakan Calhanoglu was enough for Leverkusen to win 1-0 at Hannover.

After conceding, Bayern began pelting the Hoffenheim net with shots and finally broke through in the 41st minute.

Hosts Cologne took the lead when striker Simon Zoller lobbed Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels on the half hour mark.
