Despite the freakish mishap Liverpool stormed to victory, making it 4-1 with Roberto Firmino’s second goal in the 89th minute.

Jurgen Klopp admits that praise from Liverpool supporters in the stands is “nice but not necessary” and urges them to instead focus on the players on the field.

Free-flowing football in the final third was too much for Claudio Ranieri’s men to live with, who had Jamie Vardy’s first-half strike as their only consolation on a tough away day. On the other hand, we have L City who are ninth on the table with four points, below on goal difference from Arsenal and above West Brom Albion.

“The quicker we can get over this the better”, said Drinkwater.

Danny Drinkwater admits Leicester City can not afford to dwell on their thumping defeat to Liverpool with the Champions League on the horizon. “But it’s not only one or two players”.

“I am very happy because we had fantastic support”, he said.

“They deserved to win because they created so many more chances than us”.

“It’s a little bit like celebrating a penalty before you’ve scored”, he added.

Mane scored his second goal in three league appearances and said: “I will be happy if they are afraid of me because it will make it easier for me”.

But by now, we all know that Leicester City do not quite fit into the conventional mould.

Some of the football played by Klopp’s side was reminiscent of the opening weekend victory at Arsenal but the manager knows performances like the 2-0 defeat at Burnley can always throw a spanner in the works.

“We had to throw him in cold water, he wasn’t really ready for 90 minutes”, he said. There was a feeling of freshness in the hosts’ play despite the interruption of an worldwide break and with Daniel Sturridge restored to a central striking role – Philippe Coutinho was left on the bench after a long trip back from Brazil – Liverpool had someone who could stretch the champions’ tight defence.

The manager added: “It was hard for us tonight”.
