Robinson taking ownership of his miscues vs Clemson

The Navy Midshipmen (4-0) are coming from a 33-11 win over Air Force in Week 5. Reynolds is very comparable to Georgia Tech’s quarterback Justin Thomas. Reynolds is Navy’s leading rusher, but he has a plethora of guys he can pitch it to. Chris Swain had 54 yards and two touchdowns in 18 attempts. By just looking at the stats the Navy offense centers around Reynolds. If the Irish can contain him and essentially cut Navy off by the head it will be harder for the other guys to hurt them. I threw a couple of high balls to him.

The Fighting Irish already need help to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive and can’t afford another defeat. “Everybody wants to make sure they play their very best, not only for themselves but for their teammates”. The linebacking corps will be key in this matchup.

“There isn’t a snap that I don’t like playing”.

Yu’s goal came on the first shot of the game for the Irish, who would go on to take a 6-0 lead in shots into the half. “I thought that we were connecting between the lines better….”

A significant loss from that game is safety Drue Tranquill, who suffered a torn ACL that afternoon. Tranquill set the tone for the Irish defense that day, so Max Redfield and Mathias Farley will need to step up in his absence.

“Obviously we’re not happy right now”, Schmidt said.

“As a receiver, my job is to catch”.

“You have 24 hours to celebrate a win or 24 hours to grieve over a loss”, Irish captain Sheldon Day said, following the heartbreaking loss against the Clemson Tigers.

ND: DeShone Kizer proved he belonged after he mounted ND’s comeback effort last week in Death Valley. You can’t blame it on the weather. All in all the Irish offense is in good hands with Kizer at the helm.

While being pressed on last year’s game against Navy – when the Irish fell behind after blowing a 21-point lead, before escaping with a 49-39 victory – Schmidt was asked about the importance of finishing strong after building a lead.

Notre Dame: RB C.J. Prosise was held to a season-low 50 yards on 15 carries in a loss to Clemson in a game where he frequently was hit behind the line of scrimmage, but had 100 yards receiving. ND should find more success on the ground this week against a less talented and undersized Navy defense.

“That’s about as good a fatherly advice as you can get”. The more weapons he has, the more risky he will be.

Notre Dame’s defense succeeded against Georgia Tech by throwing plenty of different fronts at the Yellow Jackets and by playing almost flawless assignment football. The Wolverines have recorded back-to-back shutouts and have allowed only 14 points their last four games. “Even the worst plays in my career I’ve been having a great time”. KeiVarae Russell was featured, where his determination and conviction to come back after his academic suspension was underscored by his solid play and leadership. “I love this game”. There is just too much talent, speed and size for Navy to stop.

The 28-minute episode honestly felt much longer, taking viewers along for a roller-coaster of a ride, capturing the entire week’s worth of practices and build-up and allowing the audience to appreciate just how fast the game moves, both on and off the field.
