Robot Hits Hole-in-One on Tiger Woods’ Stomping Ground
In terms of sports, we have seen the ping pong playing robot by Omron at CEATEC before, but what about a robot that plays golf?

At least, in golf, that is.
This was a machine that went out there and played a human’s game better than most humans. Tiger Woods did the same thing on the same hole back in 1997, which helped launch his superstar status-and also triggered the current tradition of flinging beer cans and bottles onto the green whenever someone makes that flawless shot.
Watch the unbelievable footage as Eldrick the robot hits a stunning “hole in one” at the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale.
Five swings in, Eldrick the Golf Robot had the hole figured out.

“LDRIC”, which was created by Golf Laboratories Inc. owner Gene Parente, nailed the ace on the iconic par-three 16th hole during the Waste Management Open’s pro-am event. OK, it was the robot’s fifth shot, but it still counts.
