Investigators said Rood’s boyfriend, Mark Ross, and another woman provided Tarmey with the drugs she eventually overdosed on in a Rochester motel last month.
Thursday, police announced they arrested three people in connection with Eve Tarmey’s death, including Tarmey’s mother, Jazzmyn Rood.
When first responders arrived, they found Tarmey dead in one of the motel rooms. Fentanyl, a painkiller, is often mistaken for heroin and is far more potent.
He was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail.
“It is such a tragedy to see this type of case affect a juvenile in our community”, Police Chief Michael Allen said.
Ross, 41, has been charged with conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled drug, tampering with witnesses, two counts of falsifying evidence and dispensing a controlled drug. He is charged with giving the girl a drug that caused her death.
On October 17, Ross, Aberle, and Tarmey traveled to Methuen where Tarmey was supposed to meet and stay with a man she met on Facebook, police said. She was described as an acquaintance of Rood and Ross.
Tarmey was “hysterical” about being stood up, Ross told police.
Ross said he woke up and 3 a.m.to use the bathroom and saw Tamrey slumped over in bed.
