The Rock Band 3 to Rock Band 4 export tool is now available on PS4 in North America and worldwide on Xbox One.

Rock Band 4’s first major update arrived last week, bringing with it the new and unforgiving Brutal Mode.

This process, which costs $15, exports all 83 songs from Rock Band 3. “There is a ton of testing necessary as well technical back end to work through in order to provide a fun, stable experience”.

“For any feature development, especially features that have existed in our legacy Rock Band games, we want to be able to improve and refine wherever possible”.

Unfortunately this does not give us any idea as to when the feature will be implemented, but at the very least it is still being considered because as Harmonix states, “Adding this functionality is very much on the table but we’re not yet sure where it fits in our roadmap”.

Assuming you’re already verified as an owner of Rock Band 3, you can purchase the export option from the “Get More Songs” screen in Rock Band 4.

IGN’s post also noted the statement of Rock Band 4’s product manager, Daniel Sussman, who shared that Harmonix is working on features such as providing Xbox One support for ION drums.

Sussman also provided an update on online multiplayer coming to Rock Band 4, calling it “a much bigger conversation”. Don’t hold your breath for these, though; the January update will be “modest in scope”, with stability, performance and bug fixes; more information will be provided close to release.
