Rock your body: Justin Timberlake has top moment at CMAs
Even though the high in Nashville was only 75 degrees, the tents set up in Walk of Fame Park next to the Bridgestone Arena made the red carpet feel more like a greenhouse. “It’s a short answer, but it’s a real one”. “I gotta thank all my cousins in Kentucky”.

The 8-minute performance of the country classic “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Drink You Away”, from Timberlake’s latest album, was smoky and masterful.
Keith Urban recorded the performance with his phone, Jake Owen smiled like a little boy with a crush and Jessica Biel watched her hubby closely with excitement. But last night’s CMAs were all about the unpredictable, including the showstopping new superduo of Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton.
And finally, Miranda Lambert continues to dominate the Female Vocalist of the Year category.
The star took to Instagram after the big show, which marked her eight consecutive year as co-host, to show off a hilarious video of herself in a cowboy hat trying to star aboard the pretty aggressive machine whilst waving a plastic pistol in the air. In an obvious reference to her divorce fromBlake Shelton this past July, Miranda confessed, “I appreciate it. I needed a bright spot this year”.
Shelton’s representative announced Wednesday as well that he and fellow singer Gwen Stefani, both mentors on NBC’s “The Voice”, are dating.
The camera then flashed to a shot of, not Shelton or Lambert, but of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy seated in the audience, Carrie continued, “We just want you to be happy”.
Paisley quickly jumped in, adding, “On a completely unrelated topic, howdy Blake!” “Carrie, have you heard that duet that Blake did with Ashley Madison?”. “That was with Ashley Monroe”, Underwood replied, referring to the singer – not the website.
Keith Urban, who won the award for Musical Event of the Year for his duet with Eric Church on “Raise ‘Em Up”, talked about the unique experience he’s had lately watching his wife Nicole Kidman perform live onstage in London in a play called Photograph 51.
Not all the pop-country collaborations were good, but a few were surprisingly enjoyable, such as the way Thomas Rhett and Fall Out Boy turned their songs into a segment that would have fit right in on a 1960s broadcast of Dick Clark’s American Bandstand (and I really mean that as a compliment).
Little Big Town could claim three CMA Awards as well. The band won Vocal Group of the Year.
The group, which includes Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet, is also nominated for vocal group of the year, which it has won for the last three years.
