The unlockable items are a huge part of Rocket League but they do not have any impact on the gameplay; they are purely visual additions.

After the success of the first season of the Rocket League Championship Series, news has been announced about season 2.

Whereas the first season featured a $US75,000 pool, season two will come with a $US250,000 one, as Psyonix’ community specialist Josh Watson explains.

For the second season, the stakes are higher as the prize pool has increased from the original $75,000 to $250,000. Each RLCS season spans approximately three months and feature teams from all over North America and Europe.

Much like Season 1, teams will compete in the Open Qualifier until only the top-eight teams per region remain. Those eight teams will move on to League Play, a four-week, round-robin series of eliminations that unfold in best-of-five series. Six teams per region will qualify for Regional Playoffs, a two-week event created to whittle competitors down to the final four teams in each region. The Regional Playoffs will take the top 6 teams in each region and narrow down to the top 4, with the top 2 teams in League Play receiving an automatic place at the Grand Finals. Both regions will be represented in the Grand Finals.
