Rocket League heads to Neo Tokyo for June update

Psyonix will release an enormous free update for its popular sports-action hybrid, Rocket League, on Monday, June 20, packing with tons of new features and content. Originally released as part of the “Rocket Labs” experimental Playlist, Neo Tokyo is a reimagined version of the celebrated multi-tiered stadium, “Underpass”, with streamlined gameplay improvements and a attractive, highly-detailed environment. Best of all, the update is introducing a post-game spotlight where the winning team can “jump, spin, and boost their vehicle to show off their accomplishments”. The update also brings new quick-chat customization options, post-game celebrations, eight new trophies and achievements on all the compatible platforms, certified items, an easily usable trade-in system and rare items. The new Pillars mode, however, introduces two walls to make getting across the field a bit more challenging, while unwanted or duplicate cosmetic items can be traded in for rarer, more desirable gear.

Along with the Neo Tokyo update coming June 20th, there will be two new premium cars, retro inspired and their names are “Esper” and “Masamune”. This edition hits North America and Europe on July 5 and June 24, respectively. Along with previously released content, the physical release will include the Neo Tokyo stadium, and early access to the two previous DLC cars, along with two more – Aftershock and Marauder (also available separately on July 18th).

All four DLC cars will be available for digital purchase worldwide on Monday, July 18 for Dollars $1.99 per vehicle (or regional equivalent).
