Here’s a look at how we suddenly got to this point, how the Rockets fit into the equation and what a potential Markieff Morris trade might look like for the Suns.

The Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff exchange high fives in a game against the Indiana Pacers. Houston is looking to make a few additions right now, especially after watching their team come out as flat more often that not. Morris is one of their top targets and they are convinced the Suns are now ready to part ways with the 26-year-old forward.

The Rockets are not the only team looking at trade deals, as the Clippers have reportedly been looking to see what deals are out there after a disappointing start.

Stein noted his sources that the Rockets are interested in acquiring Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris via trade, which could potentially involve Jones.

Ever since the team acquired Dwight Howard and James Harden, the team has been in desperate need to find a power forward to compliment the two.

Suns’ coach Jeff Hornacek has attempted to explain his decision to keep Morris out of Sunday’s game, citing Memphis’ big front court and a desire to threaten them on the perimeter with Mirza Teletovic and Jon Leuer. Jones has played in 16 games this season (nine starts) and he is averaging 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in those games.

He’s struggled from the field this season, but Morris is a career 45 percent shooter who can score from the mid range and the post. Morris logged just seven minutes in Phoenix’s 103-101 win over the Bulls on Monday. With Tyson Chandler on board and Morris unable to move on from his brother’s departure, there’s no fairy tale ending with him and the Suns in this one. He don’t look too excited.

However, it’s unlikely any trade gets done before December 15, when players who signed new deals over the summer are eligible to be dealt. But Morris is a career 45-percent shooter in National Basketball Association. Both Morris twins signed extensions with the Suns and were angry that the organization split them up.

According to several sources, the Houston Rockets are very interested in getting Morris to provide a decent offensive guy in the team’s frontline. Although he’s been coming off the bench, his role as a three-point gunner has been solidified, and he’s been seeing over 20 minutes on most nights.

Of course, that if is why trading for Morris is a risky proposition. I’m going to be out before then, should be.
