Rockets Re-Sign K.J. McDaniels To Three-Year Deal
The Philadelphia 76ers traded McDaniels to the Rockets at the 2014 trade deadline in exchange for point guard Isaiah Canaan. Among the Rockets’ unrestricted free agents, only reserve forward Corey Brewer has signed a deal.

“I feel great“, McDaniels said. I felt like this was the right place for me because I’m loyal to the team. McDaniels has reached a contract agreement with the Houston Rockets. One great asset the Rockets have demonstrated is developing young talent and this move is an investment in the Rockets’ future.
He was a first-team All-ACC selection and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2013-14 while at Clemson.
“It’s a blessing and I’m happy to be a part of the Rockets franchise”.
McDaniels showed tremendous potential with the Sixers but joined a playoff team that did not require him to play heavy minutes.
This deal looks good for McDaniels because of the player option on the third season and the fact that Philadelphia initially tried to give him a four-year minimum deal with only two years guaranteed.

One thing is certain, many Clutch City fans were anxious to retain McDaniels, so perhaps they might want to send Josh Smith a thank you letter. This upcoming season may be different for McDaniels, who could potentially see more time on the court despite a crowded wing positon.
