Remember how the prim and proper Janet quickly started to change under the influence of Dr Frank-N-Furter, embracing her sexuality and joining in the musical numbers?

The Rocky Horror Picture Show tells the story of a young couple who get caught in a storm before ending up at the mansion of a insane transvestite scientist who unveils his new creation: a buff blond named Rocky Horror. “I’ve had to perform it on many occasions”. And Richardson (Crown’s “Chicago”, “All Shook Up”) shines when she teams with Rhonda LaRue as Columbia and Wolnik as Janet for a steamy girl-group rendition of “Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me (Creature of the Night)”. “The home itself had been used for different classic horror films, still they hadn’t put the roof back on”. That was leaking and open. “And it was December, January – it was winter”.
Although the campy movie helped to launch Sarandon’s career, she said filming conditions were less than ideal.
“Did you ever learn the “Time Warp”?” asked Bostwick, referring to the dance that accompanied the song of the same name. “So often it rears its head”.
“I weighed about 315 pounds”, the “Paradise By the Dashboard Light” singer, 68, said. Costuming for the main characters is more traditionally familiar, including black Victorian bustiers, net stockings, red garter belts and stiletto heels all around.
Hard to believe, but The Rocky Horror Picture Show is turning 40 this year, and Entertainment Weekly brought the cast back together for a special reunion issue. He should sound like the queen!’… “I wrote something I thought I might like to go see and it’s now lived successfully for more than 40 years in theaters around the world”.

Crown Uptown Theatre’s new version of “The Rocky Horror Show” has a circus theme that may surprise purists of the popular cult musical spoof that crosses Frankenstein with old sci-fi movies but also delight others who find clowns dark and deliciously disturbing.
