“And this time being the first time in the number of years there has been a Celtic and Rangers game at Celtic Park, then of course that is going to add that little bit of spice to it”. “He was academy director and he did great work for the youths”, said Rodgers.

Rodgers appears to have settled into life in Glasgow well so far but he will know more than most that his tenure as Celtic Manager is likely to be determined by his success or failure against Mark Warburton and Rangers. Now that he has got promoted he will probably feel more the expectation at Rangers to do well this season. “When he took them on they were in a hard moment”. “It’s going to be a feisty atmosphere”.
