Rodgers unsure on Balotelli future
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says the ball is in Mario Balotelli’s court as to whether he wants to stay at the club.

Liverpool striker Balotelli, who only managed a solitary goal in the league last season, was quick to congratulate his friend.
Balotelli was left out of the Liverpool squad for the tour of the Far East and Australia, but has continued to train at Melwood.
Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli experienced a disastrous 2014-15 campaign at Anfield, and he has found himself on the unwanted list.
“I’m not sure, that will entirely be up to Mario“, Rodgers said, according to the Guardian.
“He’s working very hard at Melwood to get fit”, Rodgers added.
Balotelli, who has remained on Merseyside to continue his pre-season preparations, has two years left on his contract.
The Italian – four goals in 28 games for the Reds – also made headlines earlier this week for defending Raheem Sterling. The likes of Sampdoria [Goal] and Fiorentina [Daily Mail] are both rumoured to be keen on the former Manchester City hitman.
Following impressive wins in their pre season 2015 Asia Tour, Liverpool aim to finish their final encounter against Dollah Salleh team on a high.
“I think last season was a disappointment for us”, said Rodgers in Kuala Lumpur.
“The quality and mentality of the player is important. So, we had to ensure we brought in quality players with ambition to help us improve”, he told reporters at a press conference in Saujana on Wednesday.
Benteke will become the Reds’ seventh signing of the summer following the arrival of James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez, Adam Bogdan, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne at a combined cost of more than £80 million. But of course we are also going to improve the tactical aspect of the team.

“We’re very hopeful we can go on to be competitive this season and challenge on multiple fronts”.
