“All facets of the game, we’re playing well”, Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. 478 (11-of-23) during his current six-game hitting streak. “We haven’t had that situation much here”.

Daniels acquired Hamels to pitch in games like Monday night’s contest.

It was not how the Rangers won this game.

Fernando Rodney – the fourth pitcher used by Seattle – absorbed the loss. DeShields’ hit was reviewed and upheld after a long delay. The bunt went right to Kyle Seager at third. “He bunted it, not too firm, but right at me”. A native of Dallas, Taylor spent the past 20 years writing for The Dallas Morning News, where he covered high schools sports, the Texas Rangers and spent 11 seasons covering the Dallas Cowboys before becoming a general columnist in 2006. “It’s never one thing that causes you to lose a game”. “It’s command”.

Instead of taking the lead, the Mariners settled for being tied – which only set them up for another date with misery in the ninth.

In his final Triple A rehab start, Holland allowed two runs in five innings.

It was widely anticipated that Hamels would get the start Monday after getting scratched from his last start with a minor groin issue, and now we have confirmation. “That’s something that I definitely have to work on”. Rodney then complicated his nausea by plunking Shin-Soo Choo in the triceps with his first pitch.

“I knew how fast he was”, Seager said.

The end came when Adrian Beltre, the former Mariner, drew a five-pitch walk with the bases loaded from Rodney. He fell behind 3-0, almost hitting Beltre with a 2-0 fastball. But he walked four and twice blew leads.

With runners on first and second beginning the fifth, Ketel Marte bunted to third with Beltre playing in. But Hamels has yet to live up to the Rangers’ expectations.

The Texas left-hander found himself in trouble again in the fifth.

Rodney said he still believed he would get out of the jam. He struck out Prince Fielder and was looking for a ground ball double play from Beltre. Siegrist needed just 10 pitches in the eighth inning to retire the Giants.

Josh Hamilton (sore left knee) missed his second consecutive game.
