Roethlisberger to remain under concussion protocol

The NFL and NFLPA will reportedly investigate how the Pittsburgh Steelers handled the concussion symptoms quarterback Ben Roethlisberger experienced during Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN.

Roethlisberger said he was optimistic he aced the imPACT test he underwent Tuesday morning and was healthy with the exception of a headache, but Tomlin emphasized later Tuesday afternoon that Roethlisberger remained in concussion protocol while tests were still being conducted.

But he does have a concussion and Steelers do not know yet whether he will be able to play Sunday night vs. Indianapolis.

Pittsburgh’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks was a hard pill to swallow, because they let a winnable game get away.

“I anticipate I will be good to go for Sunday”, Roethlisberger told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh.

Indeed, the Steelers, Roethlisberger, Tomlin and all parties involved need to get on the same page with the does-Ben-have-a-concussion stuff because it has gotten to the point where finger pointing is going on — and that’s never a good thing. “Don’t see why this would be an issue”.

Roethlisberger has come a very long way in his personal growth over the course of the past five years when he reached perhaps the lowest point in his life, but I don’t think he has ever impressed me more than with what he had to say yesterday. But the reality is that seven wins in a row – and as many as eleven, if you expect them to go all the way – is just not a realistic expectation.

“I thought DeAngelo Williams played a great game this past Sunday”. Still, Roethlisberger said he does not regret pulling himself from the game. Carroll said FB Will Tukuafu and DL Demarcus Dobbs are both going through concussion protocol…. Roethlisberger described his vision as trying to look through water and self-reported his concerns to the team’s medical staff.

Seattle’s defense forced four Steelers interceptions, including a game-sealing pick in the closing minutes off of quarterback Landry Jones. But, as he said during his interview, brain injuries aren’t something you want to take lightly. I’m going to leave that up to the experts.

It’s a confusing situation, but it’s now clear where the confusion came from, as Roethlisberger’s guess that he didn’t have a concussion came before the results came back. Coffman has played for Cincinnati, Atlanta and Tennessee in his six-year career, and he has 14 career receptions with one touchdown. I felt okay, just felt like it was a big hit. Wheaton understands that without Miller, he and the other receivers need a big game. “You don’t want to think about after football with your head, but you have to”. “That’s why on the sideline when I told the doctors what I was feeling and my symptoms, Dr. Maroon and the rest of the training staff – and Dr. Maroon, one of the best neurologists in the world – said I didn’t have a concussion”.
