Carlson said Fox News had nourished an atmosphere of harassment, and the broadcaster did not renew her contract when it ended last month.
In addition to Hannity, Pirro and Van Susteren, Neil Cavuto and Kimberly Guilfoyle have defended Ailes against the claims of sexual misconduct.
The elder Mr. Murdoch has been in touch with his sons about the matter and when he returns from vacation in the south of France next week expects to bring it to a resolution, one of the people familiar with the matter said.
“And he’s been nothing but good to me”, Kelly told Charlie Rose.
Ailes, meanwhile, is making it clear he has no intention of avoiding the controversy created by the sexual harassment lawsuit.
In a statement, he said, “Gretchen Carlson’s allegations are false”.
