Roger Goodell Calls Laremy Tunsil’s NFL Draft Fall ‘Exciting’ For Some Reason
Tunsil fell to the Miami Dolphins in round one and they were happy to select the 6-foot-5, 305 pound tackle with the No. 13 pick. Later Thursday, Tunsil’s Instagram account was hacked to reveal private text conversations about potentially illicit financial assistance from an Ole Miss assistant athletic director.

Laremy Tunsil explained the bong hit video in an interview with Deion Sanders after he was drafted by the Dolphins, saying it was old news and the result of a social media hack. “He’s a smart kid, and he’s very football intelligent”, Grier said. “We did not expect him to be there”. And if they weren’t there when we thought they would be, we went up and got them. After he was pinched, Tunsil said it was a “learning experience”.
Ross said he’s spoken with Tunsil since the draft.
The mystery remained on Friday as to who made the damaging social media posts. The incident-and the reaction of the teams that passed on Tunsil-said far more about the league than it did about Tunsil.
“There have been some bumps in the road”, the officials said, adding “moving forward, we’re excited that he’s here”.
“This is a guy we felt like was one of the better players in this draft class, if not the best”, Gase said.
Tunsil was less than forthcoming when he was asked about the situation during the press conference.
Ole Miss already is under NCAA investigation for improper payments (Tunsil was suspended seven games for that reason last year), and coach Hugh Freeze – who was in attendance at the draft Thursday night – could find his job in jeopardy.
“I don’t know nothing about no video”, Lindsey Miller said.
When asked about the video, Tunsil proved he is NFL-ready by giving the same excuse everyone does-he claimed he was “hacked”, but also admitted the video was real.
Tunsil was suspended seven games a year ago for taking improper benefits while in college.
One person who is suspected – Tunsil’s stepfather Lindsey Miller, who is now entangled in a nasty legal battle with the player.
The NCAA launched an investigation into improper benefits after Tunsil and his stepfather, Lindsey Miller, filed domestic charges against each other past year.
Choosing players with good character remains a priority, Tannenbaum said. “I was busting his chops the whole time, going, ‘Hey, this guy can fit under the table in the draft room here.’ But he’s ultra-competitive and thinks he’s the biggest guy on the field”.
‘We remain committed to that, ‘ he said. “So, from all the information we had, we were comfortable with it”.
The NFL world was buzzing Thursday when the best offensive tackle, and to some pundits the best player available at any position, in the 2016 NFL Draft started sliding down the draft board.

“I made a mistake, a huge mistake”, said the highly rated offensive lineman, who played for the University of Mississippi.
