Rogers’ two-run homer leads Tulane over MS 6-5
With the win, Utah advanced into the winner’s bracket and will face Boston College at 5 p.m. tomorrow.

The game with Tulane is set for 1 p.m. CT. Sophomore lefty David Parkinson will square off against Tulane right hander Alex Massey. He took off when his teammate Henri Lartigue had a shallow blooper to center, but Utah outfielder Andre Jackson slid in for a diving catch.
On Friday night, a four-run fifth inning propelled Ole Miss to a 5-2 lead, but Utah answered with three runs in the sixth before scoring the deciding run in the 10th.
Utah’s Rose threw for six innings, finishing with four strikeouts on 112 pitches. From that point on, it was a rubber match on the mound. Ole Miss starting pitcher Brady Bramlett took a no-decision, despite working an effective five innings and surrendering just two runs. Rose did have that shaky 5th inning, but was a rock all night long.
Both programs traded runs early on with the Utes striking in the top of the first with a Josh Rose single that scored Hunter Simmons. You have to credit Utah on what a terrific job they did. “We still felt pretty good with (Wyatt) Short and (Will) Stokes left, but we just couldn’t get the big hit at the end”. A pass ball got Anderson to 2nd, and may have been able to get to 3rd in my opinion, but stayed.
Josh Rose had three RBIs and Hunter Simmons doubled in the winning run as Utah beat host MS 6-5 in 10 innings at Swayze Field.
But while the Rebs most certainly got screwed on the draw, there’s still no excuse for losing to the Utes. He promptly got a quick line out to second, but the next two batters singled to get on base.

In the bottom of the second, Kyle Watson hammered Rose’s fastball into centerfield for his second home run on the season to tie the game for Ole Miss. Clutch hitting, clutch pitching, rallies, and even a rain storm about half way through the game.
