The world has been buzzing over the incredible trailer for the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is due to hit theaters just in time for the holidays this December.

The billion-dollar franchise scored a hit past year with the release of J.J. Abrams’ “The Force Awakens”, and Disney executives hope to continue the momentum with director Gareth Edwards at the helm. They weren’t the only ones, as a certain leader of the Knights of Ren was also anxious to catch a glimpse at what the first stand-alone Star Wars spinoff has to offer. It is noted to be similar to the targeting system seen in “Star Wars: A New Hope“. The ad aired during NBC’s coverage of the 2016 Olympic Games from Rio on Thursday night and has already amassed more than 4 million views.
As is expected from a trailer of such epic proportions, this one delivers with ample shots of CGI battles, the infamous Death Star and Imperial Star Destroyers, and an insight into the holy Jedha.
The rebels are pitted against the ever-present Empire in a universe filled with droids, unusual aliens, desert planets, crisp gray uniforms and the all to familiar storm troopers. The movie, directed by Gareth Edwards, also stars Oscar victor Forest Whitaker.

James Earl Jones will return to voice Darth Vader. It’s a shame he was killed off in the series.
