Several leaks have indicated that HDR support will be arriving this year, alongside five new streaming devices this fall.

The difference between the Roku Premiere and Roku Premiere Plus is said to be the addition of microSD and Ethernet for the latter. Meanwhile, Zatz notes the Roku Preimiere (4620) and good Roku Premiere Plus (4630) will replace the Roku 2 and Roku 3 in the company’s lineup. The entry-level Roku 1 will be replaced with Roku Express and Express Plus, while the Roku 2 and 3 will be replaced by the Roku Premiere and the Roku Premiere Plus, respectively. One could offer a slightly faster processor or better remote.
Blending a mix of FCC data uncovered by Variety and info located via two Canadian channels, gadget blog ZatzNotFunny has learned that Roku is in the process of moving away from its traditional numbered-based product system to a more branded approach as it prepares to introduce some new capabilities and features to its streaming lineup. In addition, HDR has been confirmed for the Roku Premiere Plus.
The Roku Premiere, Premiere Plus and Ultra are all expected to have 4K video streaming support. However, the Ultra will also come equipped with support for an optical audio output and a USB port that will allow users to play local media that they already own.

All of these boxes are expected to launch in the U.S., but there are no indications yet whether they are also planned for the UK. “But I imagine they’re quite motivated to get the boxes released this fall given the ever-critical holiday shopping season”. The 4 is the only box of Roku’s that’s able to stream 4K video content, but according to these new leaks, it would appear that that feature will be making its way to the majority of Roku’s new lineup.
