This Roku device incorporates a speedier quad-core processor for 60 fps 4K streaming. According to a report from Bloomberg News, Amazon would bar the sales of Apple (AAPL) TV and Google’s (GOOG) Chromecast streaming devices from its own platform. Continuing the features of the remote with Roku 3, users can use voice search, plug headphones into the side of the remote, and use it as a game controller.

This updated version of the hardware will now support HD TVs and Ultra HD TVs.
For connectivity the Roku 4 includes support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO dual-band as well as 10/100 Base-T Ethernet.
All Roku devices are also getting new software offering more ways to get alerts when movies and shows become available for streaming or have price reductions.
When the user bookmarks a television show or movie (as well as their favourite actors and directors), the set-top box will issue notifications related to that content in the form of a feed.

Also worth mentioning is the newly redesigned Roku mobile app, which promises more control options. The Roku 4 will feature access to more 4K content than any other media streamer, as well as the type of streaming and picture quality you’d want paired with your 4K TVs.
