Rolls-Royce reveal rugby-inspired bespoke model
A commemorative rugby ball has been created by Gilbert in conjunction with Rolls-Royce to accompany the special edition Wraith. Drawing inspiration from the rich history of the quintessentially English sport, the team of designers and craftsmen built a one-off auto that celebrates England’s love with the great game. The roof of the Rolls-Royce Dawn delivers the silence of a Wraith when up and operates in nearly complete silence in just over 20 seconds at a cruising speed of up to 50kph.

Celebrating the illustrious history of the game, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is extremely excited to unveil this unique creation. Rugby essentially got its start when William Webb Ellis chose to toss out the standard football rules by picking up the ball and running with it.
The exterior color scheme of English White pays homage to the white rugby shirt worn at Rugby School; a tradition continued today by the England rugby team. Folklore has it that the rose originates from Rugby School and Queen Elizabeth I, her red rose emblem placed with her permission on the school crest by its founder. “The Wraith also has 21” alloys, but no sign of a red rose there. Five-spoke 21-inch wheels round out the exterior trimmings. For those not in the know, the rose is the symbol of the British rugby team.
Those shirts had a red rose emblazoned on them, and the latest Wraith has one on each headrest and the seat and door piping are Hotspur Red. The main interior colour is Seashell contrasted with Navy Blue.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith – History of Rugby is also getting an updated cabin as well.
In 2017, there may be a window, Lizardo said, but to order the Dawn with basic options will need a six-month minimum lead time as ordering other Rolls-Royce models.
