Rolls-Royce unveils the Vision Next 100 – an all-electric, autonomous concept vehicle that previews styling, packaging, electronic and engineering ideas being pursued by the United Kingdom automaker for inclusion on future models – as part of celebrations surrounding the centenary of its parent company BMW.
The Vision Next 100 can collect its driver from a desired location in fully automated fashion and adapt itself to pre-programmed personalised preferences before it arrives.
“MINI looks to offer smart and bespoke mobility in cities that engages all the senses. And in the future, you might not actually have to own a vehicle to enjoy the benefits”.
The virtually incomprehensible Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 made its splashy debut at London’s Roundhouse arts venue.
The Mini Vision Next 100 is meant to be a shared vehicle that will, nevertheless, feel customized for whomever is using it. Sure, there have been others, but none of them looked as dramatic as the Vision Next 100. Luxury automotive brand Rolls-Royce has unveiled its first ever concept auto at a special event in London. The concept has a zero-emission powertrain of unspecified design.
This futuristic MINI allows people to choose between being passengers and driving themselves.
Like the BMW and Rolls concepts, the MINI Vision Next 100 is built around the assumption that autonomous cars will become commonplace in the next few decades. The auto will take care of the driving on its own. No steering wheel, no user interface, no center console.
The wheels are partially encased, the grille floats in front and the glass canopy sweeps back to open up in one effortless movement.
The centrepiece of the interior is the so-called Cooperizer. You can select personalized entertainment and autonomous driving settings. Depending on the set-up that is chosen, the Cooperizer then lights up in a range of different colours. As such, the famous go kart-like dynamics of the current Minis have supposedly been preserved, and a “John Cooper Works performance mode” introduced.

That might involve help with itineraries and scheduling, as well as appointment assistance, but also sees the virtual driver bring the auto around from the garage to the front door automatically.
