Roma quoted significantly higher fee for Jack Wilshere than Bournemouth

Portuguese giants Benfica and Sporting Lisbon were also interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes the move is ideal for both parties.

England’s Wilshere has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and his place in Arsene Wenger’s first eleven is not guaranteed, which is why the Frenchman has made a decision to loan him out.

Arsenal won their first Premier League game of the season on Saturday afternoon following a 3-0 win at Watford.

Wilshere, who is not part of Sam Allardyce’s first England squad, could make his Bournemouth debut after the global break at home to West Bromwich Albion on September 10.

Bournemouth have taken one point from their opening three league fixtures of the season.

Wilshere famously went on loan to Bolton back in 2010, where his displays established him as one of English football’s brightest prospects.

Wilshere has been closely linked with rival Premier League moves but the North London based outfit reportedly want the England global to move abroad and gain experience in a league overseas.

Jack Wilshere arrived at Bournemouth on Wednesday evening ahead of a season-long loan after rejecting Roma, AC Milan, and Crystal Palace, according to Sky sources.

He has been limited to two substitute appearances this term after dropping behind Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla in Arsenal’s central midfield pecking order.

“I am looking forward to working hard every day with the coaching staff and my new team-mates to help the club achieve success on the pitch”.

AS Roma were considered to be strong favourites to land Wilshere for most of deadline day, but BBC have now revealed that Arsenal blocked the move to Rome because the Romans had blocked their deal for Kostas Manolas. Thanks for all your support.’ .
