Since not winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, WWE has been on a mission to get Roman Reigns over with a fan base that has relatively unanimously shunned him.

This feud literally boils down to “bro, you just bumped into my girlfriend so let’s fight”. Vince was so upset with Reigns that he gave him a title shot – that makes little sense – with the stipulation that Reigns would be fired if he lost. It gets her involved to help save her man. The crowd wasn’t overly into it, but it followed a very good ladder match. I enjoyed his match last night and the beat down was fine for what it was.
Rusev and Ryback was a good match for the most part and told a good story. You know his cousins, the Usos and his best friend, Dean Ambrose that has been fighting with him each and every week. It’s really being downplayed by the WWE.
I just question whether that can be done properly.
Other notable matches included a rematch between WWE Divas champion Charlotte and her rival Paige.
McMahon then arrived at ringside to watch the Reigns-Sheamus match at the climax of the show. The finish kind of came out of nowhere so that was nice to see, but now do they feud for 6 weeks or does Ambrose feud with League of Nations?
The fans were loving it, chanting “Thank You Roman!” I couldn’t believe it, but WWE teased a flaming table. It’ll be the most “Attitude Era” feeling match of the night and should be pretty entertaining.
Though, to be clear, I’d much prefer them square up against the Wyatts than Team Extreme. After all, they did take out John Cena on Raw a couple of months ago.
Del Rio returned at Hell in a Cell in October and since hasn’t defended his title. Maybe Zeb Colter will reunite with Swagger? Jack Swagger is a loser, and Ryback has become a loser.
Mr McMahon continued to distract the referee as Alberto Del Rio and Rusev attacked Reigns, yet he dispatched them both and turned his attentions to the boss. Team B.A.D is already over, due mainly to the fact that Sasha Banks is in the group, so the WWE should try to make them into their own, unique thing, and not a female-led New Day reboot. If they can keep the momentum going and change some other storyline issues, they might be on their way to being back on track. “The #AmbroseAsylum is OPEN in Boston!”, WWE tweeted alongside a photo of Ambrose taunting Owens with his new title.
The former Shield member can’t get it done on the microphone and the WWE may finally be realizing it. Never were his lack of mic skills more evident than when he cut the infamous “tater tots” promo on Sheamus last week on RAW. I was actually hoping for a Reigns win, but we got a payoff with him destroying Triple H after the match.
Ideal Result – Neither guy can really afford a loss in this situation, at least not a clean one – so look out for a count out or DQ in this one. And that’s gets me to the main event. Reigns made the right choice and went berserk after releasing all his anger to the League of Nations and The Authority of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Philadelphia doesn’t just cheer for anyone, and they cheered and cheered loudly for Reigns.
With that, the gauntlet was laid down to a very rough night for Roman.
The match ended with Xavier Woods, who was initially on commentary, getting on the apron and throwing his trombone at Kalisto, who was climbing the ladder to retrieve the belts.

Sheamus has suffered a similar fate. The event will also be telecasted on TV, check with your cable subscriber. Yet, somehow he’s supposed to be a heel champion that fans see as a serious threat.
