As for the Republic of Ireland, the BBC have their opener with Sweden on June 13 with ITV screening the final group matches against Belgium and Italy.

Russian Federation will be the final Group B opponents for Wales in Toulouse, and Coleman insisted it would be a mistake to focus too much on their match against England in Lens, with three points vital in the opening match against Slovakia in Bordeaux.

Joachim Low’s side have been drawn with Ukraine, Poland and Northern Ireland, with the world champions having faced the Poles in qualifying for the tournament.

Hodgson’s deal expires after next year’s European Championship in June and July, and a contract extension depends on England’s performances in France, where they have been grouped with Wales, Russia and Slovakia.

The opening match of the tournament, on 10 June, will see hosts France play Romania in Group A, which also has Albania and Switzerland.

Dyke added: “England-Wales is a good, exciting game, and my reaction to the draw overall is, “Yeah, that’s fine”. England are one of the best teams, and we looked at it and would have wanted to avoid it, but we look forward to it.

Coleman said that Bale’s experience in Madrid since becoming the world’s most expensive player would stand him in good stead next summer.

The Northern Ireland boss said: “Germany were maybe the pot one team that I didn’t want but, having been drawn in it and got my head around it, I think it’s a fantastic game for us”.

The IFA had provisionally arranged a game with Poland but have cancelled it after the teams were paired together in the Euro finals draw. “I think we proved that in qualification and we have to believe we can get out of the group”.

“I honestly believe if we have a bit of luck along the way, and play our football, we have a great chance of winning”.

When we looked at the market last month, Austria were our outside tip, and the draw has been kind to them.

The IFA said Northern Ireland fans will receive up to 20% of the total ticket allocation for each match, so the total number of tickets on sale will depend entirely on the draw.
