Romelu Lukaku ends drought with 11-minute hat-trick
Romelu Lukaku scored a hat-trick in 11 second-half minutes to end his 11-match Premier League drought and put Everton on 10 points from the opening four games. Deulofeu fed Gueye on the counter-attack, and the midfielder’s pinpoint clipped cross from the right was nodded into Pickford’s bottom-right corner by the Belgium striker, who was unmarked just six yards from goal.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku says he must adopt a “serial killer” instinct in the final third to build on his hat-trick against Sunderland.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that he had to give his side a rocket at half time to inspire a 3-0 win at Sunderland this evening.
In a first half short of goalmouth action, both sides were guilty of missing gilt-edged chances.
“I think we could have done better, especially in the first half”, he told Sky Sports.
“I think I could have had five really, I need to be more of a serial killer if I want to help the team achieve it’s objective”.
“Why for the last 25, 30 minutes did we capitulate, the back four, when it wasn’t on the cards?”
“We’ve got a lot of youngsters in the side and one or two new faces; while they were culpable of some of the mistakes, a few of our more experienced players were at fault too”, he continued.
“If you give Everton a bit of credit, they boys picked the crosses out well, one to the by-line and another one, but for us, we never stopped them and more importantly for me, we weren’t in the middle of the goal to stop Lukaku heading them in and that was the disappointing part for me”.
“I know my players, that was the level of the second half, not the level of the first half”.
Everton will be doing whatever they can to keep him happy now as he looks to get back to his best consistently.
Koeman went on to back his players to sustain a fight for the European spots this season – provided that they do not repeat Monday’s first-half showing.
“We were not in the right defensive positions”.
Sunderland now head to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday looking to record their first Premier League win under the Scot.

The Irish international’s cross shot sneaked across goal and although Lukaku got an outstretched boot to it it wasn’t enough to direct it into the net, the ball trickling wide of the post.
