Romney hits Cruz over Obama/terrorism claim
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, a candidate for president, suggested that by concluding the nuclear deal with Iran, President Obama had become “the leading financier of terror”. Two problems particularly stand out: “The Iranian path to nuclear weapons has been eased and legitimated; Tehran will receive a “signing bonus” of some 0 billion that greatly increases its abilities to aggress in the Middle East and beyond”.

“You know, one of the reasons Republicans keep getting clobbered is we have leaders like Mitt Romney and like Jeb Bush who are afraid to say that”, Cruz said of his aggressive opposition to the deal.
Well this morning, President Obama got some back-up against Cruz from an unlikely source.
“Those billions of dollars in American management will probably be utilized by jihadists to homicide Americans, to homicide Israelis, to homicide Europeans”.
A reasonable assessment, given Iran’s history.
Sen. Ted Cruz is hitting back at fellow Republicans for criticizing his rhetoric on the Iran deal, and said Republicans have no hope of winning the White House if they talk more politely about the deal the way Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush want. Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, so much of that money will end up in the hands of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, and other radical Islamic terrorists.
“Maybe this is just an effort to push [Donald] Trump out of the headlines, but it’s not the kind of leadership that is needed for America right now”, Obama scolded. “John Adams famously said, ‘Facts are stubborn things.’ Describing the actual facts is not using rhetoric; it is called speaking the truth”, Cruz said.

Congress has been reviewing the Iran deal since July 20 and will have a total of 60 days to look it over. He has even challenged President Obama to a debate, anytime and anywhere, on Iran. “If he believes that this deal can be defended, I would encourage him to defend it in front of the American people”, Cruz said.
