Romo knocked out vs Carolina with another collarbone injury

Romo suffered his second collarbone injury this season in Dallas’ 33-14 loss to the undefeated Carolina Panthers on Thursday (Friday in Australia).

According to ESPN sources, the scan showed a small crack in the healed portion of the distal fracture that Romo suffered in the Week 2 game on September 20 win against the Philadelphia Eagles that caused him to miss seven games. Dallas lost all seven games that Romo missed earlier this season because of a broken left clavicle.

Romo laid on the field for several minutes following the hit before walking off as he favored his left arm.

“Yeah, you know, I’ve got diverse dancing ability”, Newton said after throwing for 183 yards and running for another 45. “I’m just very disappointed in not giving our team the chance to win”.

Midway through the second quarter, Romo didn’t see linebacker Luke Keuchly and he picked off Romo and returned it 32 yards for another defensive score for the Panthers.

The only stat that the Cowboys care about is winning, and Cassel is 0-4 as a starter this season and the Cowboys are 0-7 without Romo under center in 2015.

Jay Cutler threw for 200 yards including a touchdown pass to Zach Miller, while Jeremy Langford also scored from a yard out. Now a 3-8 franchise, Romo’s presence has definitely made a difference since when he has started at quarterback, they are 3-1.

Carolina safety Kurt Coleman and Kuechly scored interceptions in the first half to give the Panthers a 23-3 lead heading into the third quarter. The Carolina loss was his first of the season.

The same report said that Davis fell on Romo during the sack and jammed the quarterback’s shoulder.

Expect head coach Jason Garrett to establish a strong ground game with Cassel in at quarterback, as he will look to alleviate pressure on the backup quarterback. Even before Romo left the game with an injury to his left clavicle, he was part of the problem rather than the solution for Dallas. He had previously beaten Indianapolis at 9-0 in his fourth career start in 2006 and New Orleans at 13-0 three years later.

Newton set up Carolina’s only offensive touchdown on a 4-yard run for a 30-6 lead in the third quarter moments before Romo’s injury. Luck will miss his second consecutive game with a lacerated kidney and partially torn abdominal muscle. Jerricho Cotchery had four of the five catches, with one of the 24-yarders on third-and-17.
