Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is tended to by a trainer after he went down on a play against the Seattle Seahawks during the first half of a preseason National Football League game on Thursday.

However, a source told ESPN that Romo could miss anywhere from six to 10 weeks with a compression fracture of his L1 vertebrae.
“We don’t believe that to be the case at all”, Garrett said when asked if Romo’s season was in jeopardy. Multiple media are reporting Romo could miss 6-10 weeks with the injury.
Romo initially expressed relief to reporters after the game that he felt OK after the big hit from Cliff Avril in Thursday night’s game, but tests revealed he had much more damage than he initially thought. “Dak came in and did a great job”.

That sequence served as a fitting conclusion to the first-team action, and it offered plenty of hope that Seattle’s offense will be able to carve up defenses again after tying for fourth in the league in points per game last season.
“He’s driven for this not to be like past year”, Jones said.
The Cowboys got their first look at rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott on Thursday night after the workhorse missed the team’s first two exhibition contests with a hamstring injury. “I’m never in the business of trying to hurt anybody”, Avril said.
With Prescott being bumped up to starting QB, Kellen Moore will now serve as the Dallas backup.
