Ronald Reagan had given the first key to Mrs. Reagan in 1950 when he was president of the Screen Actors Guild.

She was involved behind the scenes influencing her husband on many major decisions, and also went public on some controversial issues against Republican party positions.

“Ronald Reagan was such a nice guy and really built such great relationships with a lot of people”.

“I’d say, ‘Well, I guess there’s a low pressure system that came in'”.

Former first lady Nancy Reagan died Sunday; she was 94. She beat breast cancer during her husband’s presidency.

She will join her beloved Ronald at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, who died on June 5, 2004.

“As somebody who is lucky enough to have an extraordinary partner in my life as well, I know how much she meant not just to President Reagan but to the country as a whole”, Obama added. “With CARA (Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act) on the Senate floor this week, I would like to acknowledge her significant contributions in the struggle to end drug abuse and addiction”.
