Ronda Rousey discusses recovery from Holly Holm fight
Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has finally broken her silence almost a month after losing her title and her unblemished record to Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 14 in Melbourne.

Rousey told the upcoming edition of ESPN Magazine she suffered damage to her teeth in the stunning loss to Holm, which would prevent her getting back in the octagon for several months.
Rousey insisted she didn’t take Holm for granted. But with so many questions surrounding her ability to make weight at all, it’s just another sign that a Rousey vs Cyborg fight is a long ways away, and not certain to happen at all. “I need to beat this chick”, Rousey said.
She added, “Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open again”.
“… I’m just really f**king sad”, Rousey comments. She had stitches in her lip and bruising on her cheekbones. I have to f*cking do it. It doesn’t matter. In reality, the thrashing the previous UFC champion gained from Holm was so extreme, she went in to hiding. I’m the only one that’s scared when I walk in there. Then I just slept and pooped in the woods. “But I still think there’s a desire there at some point. That’s still a fight I’d like to see, whether it’s Ronda or Holly or whoever it is”.
Following the loss – and even before – Rousey took some criticism for her choice of camp. “I wasn’t even fucking there”. “I have to do it”.

Cyborg, who last defended that title against Faith Van Duin in July, had been talking about moving down in order to set up a fight with Rousey. “Either I’ll win and keep going or I won’t and I’ll be done with everything”. A Cyborg-Rousey matchup would have been the biggest bout in women’s MMA – and maybe all MMA – history. “That’s my mom’s opinion, not mine”. “I’m always fucking scared”. Over the summer, through all the sh*t that I had to shuffle through, that I had to sift through, Ronda and I started talking throughout the summer and I’ll say now that we are together.
