Julianna Pena defeated Jessica Eye at UFC 192 in Houston with a hard fought decision. The referee for this one is Frank Collazo.

Few short punches from Pena and a knee from Eye.

In regards to Eye, Pena was very respectful and quick to praise her opponent.

Eye throws up her legs looking for the triangle, but Pena shrugs that off and moves to half. Fast start, as Eye has a headlock on the fence.

After years of severe under-testing by government commissions and a disastrous brief window where they tried to handle things by themselves, the UFC has finally handed their drug testing over to USADA. Pena also benefited from a point being deducted from an illegal kick from the bottom. Another take down from Pena netted her side control, which she maintained for the remainder of the 1st, searching for elbows along the way.

After fifteen minutes of fighting, all three judges scored the fight for Pena by unanimous decision.

Round 2: Pena’s corner liked what the Washington fighter was doing in that first. She can’t so far.

Do you think Ronda Rousey will get another shot in being in Hollywood movies? Pena said following the biggest win of her career. They scramble, and Eye for a moment goes for the neck. Pena tries to escape, but Eye is trying to set up an arm triangle. And again. Eye applying a lot of pressure here in this clinch. Eye rolled into the choke and escaped the submission attempt but was unable to get up from her back.

“It’s not my job to decide who gets a point and who doesn’t”, she said. That’s huge. This was her round. Eye has now lost two straight. She secured an early takedown and took Eye’s back. She can’t get it down, as Eye swivels her hips and pulls her back in. She locked on a rear-naked choke that had Eye’s face almost turning purple.
