Ronda Rousey’s nemesis on Friday’s bout: ‘She’d better be ready’
Nunes needed just 48 seconds to destroy Rousey and win via TKO.

It seems as though the former Olympian has taken her camp very seriously and she looks to be in incredible shape coming into this fight.
I believe we’re going to be talking about Ronda Rousey retiring immediately after the fight.
“I don’t know, we’ll see what happens”, White concluded. “First of all, I know her better than you and she is a smart, kind, talented, generous, hard-working person”, De Mars wrote before listing many of Rousey’s accomplishments including her 2008 Olympic bronze medal in judo. But does she really want to end her MMA career on such a sour note?
For years, Rousey rose to greatness by handing her opponents, quick, aggressive, lopsided defeats.
Nunes, making her first title defence since winning the championship at UFC 200, shrugged off Rousey’s few attempts at striking to continue finding Rousey with heavy blows.
However, Nunes dominated the fight with series of successful blows to Rousey’s face from the first bell.
It was an odd week with Rousey doing virtually no media interviews and Nunes forced to do them.
Ronda Rousey’s UFC comeback didn’t even last a minute. Is she struggling with everything she feels like she has to do.
“I know nobody can take my punches”, she said.
Her Instagram handle is filled with #FeartTheReturn posts.
“This is incredible. This moment is my moment”, yelled Nunes after her victory.
Rousey was knocked out by a head kick in that bout and did not fight again until Friday night in Las Vegas.
In contrast, Nunes was paid $100,000 to show and another $100,000 as a win bonus for her first title defence, apart from an undisclosed share of pay per view revenues.
So when she finally agreed to another bout, Rousey was allowed to bypass the usual scrutiny and tedium.
Eventually the fight went to the judges and Garbrandt took the nod with a unanimous points decesion to break Cruz’s 10-year unbeaten streak.

UFC president Dana White also confirmed that the 29-year-old former judoka will not attend any pre-fight press conferences prior to UFC 207 in Nevada. “I can’t wait”, Nunes, of Brazil, told the Los Angeles Times.
