Ronda Rousey Told Jimmy Fallon Exactly How Holly Holm Would Beat Her

Following what has been described as “the greatest upset in UFC history”, that saw Ronda Rousey’s winning streak broken by Holly Holm in Melbourne, Holm’s coach has called her opponent’s intellect into question. The fight ended quickly, in just one round and 59 seconds, but it ended with Holm knocking an already-bloodied Rousey out with a left kick to the head.

Martinez said the Albuquerque native demonstrated to the “world what it means to be New Mexico True” with her win and likely inspired little girls all across the state to become “champions in their own right”.

Holm (10-0) jumped on the prone Rousey, delivering several blows to her head before the referee intervened, ending Rousey’s 12-fight unbeaten run and handing Holm the bantamweight title.

An ecstatic Holm jumped around the ring while Rousey stayed on the canvas as she received medical treatment amid the roar of a stunned, record UFC crowd.

“We figured her aggression was coming, if it didn’t that’s OK, but with footwork and my career we figured she wouldn’t give me that space”, Holm told ABC News.

Dana White’s reaction said it all.

Rousey reportedly didn’t suffer a concussion despite a vicious second-round knockout.

Rousey’s pre-fight cockiness, which extended to refusing to touch gloves with Holm last night, made her defeat fodder for heaps of memes. “She’s completely bummed out and depressed”. “I don’t know about this fight, I just know that you win a few and you lose a few. It’s the fight that makes sense”, White told TMZ. And White revealed after the fight that Rousey took the loss hard from a mental standpoint.
