Ronny Deila: I expect the same loyalty previous Celtic managers had

Another week, another round of speculation about Ronny Deila’s job security.

Backing all three teams to win would attract odds of around 5/1 with most bookmakers, so Paddy Power’s price boost to 20/1 is naturally bound to tempt plenty of punters into a flutter before Thursday’s games. “There’s a lack of leadership”.

“You have to have a responsibility to take young Scottish players and build them up – like KT”. How an 18-year-old boy had shown the desire we need. We need more coming with the attitude KT had, because that was brilliant.

“Not everyone can be very tight all the time but you have to find your way to defend a goal”. “We can fix the individual errors that are causing the problems”.

The result leaves them bottom of their group with just two points from four games so far.

Even if that seemingly unlikely target is not achieved, however, Deila fully expects to be at the helm for a third attempt at Champions League qualification next summer.

They haven’t defended well enough and the manager is under a bit of pressure.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are priced at 8/13 to seal victory when they look to return to the top two in Group J by securing a first win in normal time in their fifth meeting with Anderlecht. That’s what I expect with me as well.

“What we need is for things to go forward, that we have a whole club that believes in what we’re doing”.

The Israel global claimed Celtic were once again punished for repeating mistakes on the European stage.

He said: “We concede goals too easily”. “Teams who play us create too many chances against us”.

“It’s too easy and when you do things like that in Europe you get punished”.

“When you lose two games against Molde, with all due respect, you can’t think of winning against Ajax and Fenerbahce”.

“So we will be trying to turn the fans first and foremost”.

Asked whether he had been given assurances by the Celtic board over his role, he replied: “I feel quite comfortable in things but you never know in football”.
