Ronny Deila: Some Celtic players “happy” to see me leave

“Ronny has won it already once before and I know everyone at the club and our supporters will be right behind him and the team as he aims to do it again and make it five in-a-row for Celtic”.

“Of course I’m really enjoying learning from Martin [O’Neill] but the best place for me to learn is back in the hot seat – not so much in the long term but in the shorter term”, he added.

The appalling performance in a Scottish League Cup semi against Ross County in January led him over it.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me so well at the club”.

Celtic are ready to claim their fifth consecutive title, but next season will be challenged by Rangers Premiership return after four years (via Daily Mail).

Former Manchester United and Everton manager Moyes was immediately installed as the bookies’ favourite, and is understood to be high on Celtic’s wish-list as they look for a big-name manager.

“Listen, I’m not going to be joyful about anyone losing their job”. Now in charge of Helsingborgs, where he has experienced a hard start to the current Swedish season, Larsson batted away questions on being linked again with Celtic yesterday. I will never forget the welcome I received nearly two years ago at Celtic Park from so many fans.

MARK Warburton last night spoke up in defence of Ronny Deila and predicted the departing Celtic manager would go on to find employment at another big club on the continent.

But I just think Celtic this season haven’t handled the big games as well as they normally do.

“When I first came into this job I talked about improving the team, about playing attractive football and I think in the last six months we haven’t had the improvement that we need”.

“I have got a lot of things to think about between now and 24 May that are going to keep my mind occupied”. There is not one player who came in that door that I didn’t say yes to. When quizzed about the post, he said: “I’ve two jobs, ITV and Ireland!”

Striker Martyn Waghorn, the 26-year-old who has been nominated for the PFA Scotland Championship player of the year award, admits that his career was stalling at Wigan Athletic before his transfer to Ibrox but is now hoping to play for the promoted club in European competition.

“I only ever met Ronny at the pre-game press conference and had half an hour chatting with him”.
