Rookie David Johnson steps to forefront of Cardinals offense

The glib, one-line blueprint for Arizona for the rematch could very well be this: “Do the opposite of everything you did in Week 4”. While as of now he will serve as back up to David Johnson, along with Stepfan Taylor, Williams will still get snaps and could see his work load increase if he plays like how he did last December where he rushed for 246 yards. Johnson will now lead the backfield until one or both can return.

Johnson leads all rookie running backs and wide receivers with eight total touchdowns.

Seattle has struggled offensively even with Graham, mostly due to weak production from the offensive line.

He said he’s vastly improved from that day.

Johnson was on his way to gaining 1,200-1,300 yards rushing. Protection will be key against the Rams, and so will the balance on the offensive play call. When Todd Gurley plays poorly, the Rams lose.

If the defense gets stretched horizontally by Austin, Gurley will have big running lanes. The Rams don’t have much of a passing game, but Gurley is special.

This is an easy one, as the rookie is making his first career start.

Over the past month, Chris Johnson appeared to be wearing down.

Losing Chris Johnson is going to hurt Arizona the rest of this season, but rookie running back David Johnson is ready to break out with a big game.

Carson Palmer (Quarterback): Palmer had a surprisingly quiet game.

It’s not unusual for two division rivals to jab each other, but this isn’t the first time Arians has shoved his masterful wit right in the face of the Rams. Boldin has becoming a more reliable player with Gabbert under center. He needs 8 yards to reach 1,000 for the season. The Cardinals have some injuries on the defensive front, so this will be a challenge.

Larsen filled in for an injured Cooper against San Francisco, and his numbers weren’t pretty.

The Cardinals will look to avenge their only home loss of the season – and the Rams’ only road win of the season – on Sunday.

With Keenum’s availability in question, quarterback Nick Foles, who started in his place a week ago in the Rams’ loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, took most of the first team repetitions during this week’s practices. It has been a minute since Arizona’s secondary has thrown themselves a party, hasn’t it?
