Rookie Johnson has strong debut, Chargers win on final FG
It might be impossible for the Cardinals to play as badly as they did last week, but if they do then the Chargers will be sure to punish the Arizona team badly here in Glendale tonight.

David Johnson needed a couple of plays to realize that life as an NFL running back is a lot different than it was at Northern Iowa.
Additionally, users with a subscription to NFL Game Pass can also watch the game on the NFL Mobile app.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver J.J. Nelson (14) catches a pass against San Diego Chargers cornerback Richard Crawford (35) at University of Phoenix Stadium.
“There’s going to be some good and some bad on the film, but once we get it all together I think we’ll be good”, Sowell said.
Melvin Ingram had two sacks for the Chargers.
But when people look at the game, they will mostly focus on the first-team and its inability to keep Palmer clean.
“It’s just good to get those out of the way and get your body acclimated”, Palmer said. Arians is unsure of how serious the issue is but told reporters Johnson could miss up to two weeks.
A key to the game for San Diego is to protect Philip Rivers, as he was pulled after just nine snaps in last year’s second exhibition game against the Seattle Seahawks.
After Andre Ellington left the field following a handful of snaps – and a spectacular 57-yard receiving play – in the preseason opener, the Cardinals weren’t left with much to work with at running back. The San Diego haven’t beaten the Arizona in the NFL Preseason contests since dating back in 2003. In the three series they were on the field, they gave up one first down – San Diego’s first offense play.
Johnson, the running back signed by the Cardinals last week, did not play in last night’s preseason game against the Chargers even though the Cardinals had initially planned to get him at least a few carries.
