‘Room’ star Jacob Tremblay accepts Critics’ Choice Award with adorable speech

Just last week he posted pictures of himself with a number of huge Hollywood stars at the Golden Globes before having a lightsaber battle with Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac at the after party. So many networks are offering original programming now, and a show from Lifetime or SundanceTV (where “Rectify” is their first original scripted TV ongoing series) becoming so acclaimed would no doubt have been surprising to a TV viewer even five years ago. Big congrats to Alicia on the win!

But it was “Spotlight’s” night in the end.

In another Globes redux, Rachel Bloom took the prize for her leading role in the CW’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”, and waxed euphoric in her acceptance speech about the vitality and viability of the musical art form in America. Rachael McAdamas received the award for the Best Acting Ensemble Award for her movie Spotlight.

Netflix, which came away empty-handed at the Globes despite eight nominations, scored best comedy series for Aziz Ansari’s “Master of None”.

The Critics’ Choice Awards do get stars to turn out in droves, like Matt Damon, who did not end up winning anything.

Best Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series: Kirsten Dunst, “Fargo”.

Constance Wu, who stars on comedy series Fresh Off the Boat, donned a pale blue Peter Langner dress with an Amanda Pearl clutch and Brian Atwood shoes. It was a big night for Vikander, who also won supporting actress for “The Danish Girl”.

Andre Braugher won for supporting actor for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, while Mayim Bialik won supporting actress for “The Big Bang Theory”. “Shark Tank” won for best structured reality show while “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” won for best unstructured reality show.
