All of his 19 wins have been with the Brackley-based team and he is now leading the 2016 drivers’ championship, as he goes for his first title in F1 (on his third attempt).

Formula One race director Charlie Whiting issued a “technical directive” to teams on Wednesday to clarify what they are allowed to tell their drivers over the radio.
Despite an effort before the Hungarian Grand Prix to clarify the rules governing radio communication between Formula One teams and their drivers, their implementation has been derided as “b***s***” by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
The 31-year-old German, who earlier Friday signed a new two-year contract to remain with Mercedes until 2018, clocked a best lap in one minute and 20.435 seconds on a busy day at the Hungaroring.
Mercedes were just as dominant on the race runs, Rosberg well over half a second on average quicker than the next quickest man, Verstappen.
BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) – Nico Rosberg of Mercedes posted by far the fastest lap during the second practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Friday.
“I’m aware he’s done very well and he’s had the win and the podiums”, said the Australian, who beat four-time champion Sebastian Vettel in his first season at Red Bull before the German left for Ferrari.
“Obviously, not the greatest session for me”, said Hamilton. So now we’re trying this and I think it’s okay. As more cars drive on the track during the weekend, it should come up and get quicker and quicker. “Therefore, we’re going to look at rotation”. “So I think the ban is the wrong way”.
Clear agreed with Symonds, saying that “people are just very tired” and the sport did not have the “luxury” of using substitutes.
The pair clashed again earlier this month in Austria on a dramatic last lap as Rosberg lost his front wing and was given a 10-second penalty after being found guilty of causing the crash by race stewards.

Hamilton heads into the weekend a point behind Rosberg in the championship and determined to take the lead for the first time this season on one of his favourite tracks.
