Tottenham rescued a point from their Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool when Danny Rose rewarded a second-half fightback by firing the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

The Dutch custodian started proceedings with a stellar save within five minutes of the match as he denied Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho a sure goal early on.

The side began the game poorly, as they looked out of their depths in the opening 15 minutes of the game.

Neither side could find the victor during the final stages of the game so an entertaining match finished 1-1 in north London.

Not for the first time since Jurgen Klopp took charge at Liverpool, the Reds’ front three showed potential as a fluid unit.

“We had chances and even one in the 92nd minute”.

“I saw Spurs as being a very good fit for me – but we were unable to agree financial terms with them. With hindsight, though, that was not a disaster”. “We started to make some mistakes and we knew that Liverpool is a team that likes to run if you give them space, with [Sadio] Mane, [Roberto] Firmino, [Philippe] Coutinho, [Adam] Lallana or [Georginio] Wijnaldum who can damage you”. “Three points from four games – we probably could have had more”.

Simon Mignolet saved our lives then, now he had one brilliant save.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino insists Kyle Walker’s substitution in the 28th minute due to illness had a significant impact on his team.

After Liverpool winger Sadio Mane had seen a goal disallowed for offside, Spurs equalised when auxiliary right-back Eric Dier’s cross was flicked on by Lamela to Rose, who drilled home.

“I think it’s a good signal that he didn’t score yet”, said the Argentine.

Following a deflating loss to Burnley at Turf Moor, Liverpool headed back to London to take on hosts Tottenham Hotspur.

“We will work on it but we are convinced he can play there, that’s why we haven’t signed another player in this position”.
