Rosie O’Donnell Man Charged in Daughter’s Disappearance

A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the disappearance of Rosie O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea.

Steven Sheerer, 25, was charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree distribution of obscenity to a minor, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato said on Saturday. In regards to the current altercation, Sheerer apparently told police that Chelsea was not at his home, but they refused to believe him and found her in the attic with her dog, Bear.

According to a statement issued by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office earlier today, Sheerer’s arrest came after Rosie gave authorities permission to examine Chelsea’s cell phone.

Barnegat police Lt. Keith Germain confirmed that Chelsea O’Donnell and Sheerer had met through Tinder, an online dating service. If convicted of both charges, he faces over five years in jail.

It is being reported that the police have also seized his computer as part of their investigations. However a spokeswoman for O’Donnell stated the case includes the star’s daughter, Chelsea. The former talk show host also stated that her daughter could not have been with friends, because she “doesn’t have any friends”. In addition to that, there was no evidence of drug use or drugs present at the time Chelsea was found at Sheer’s home.

“Rosie wants to paint me as a frightful person and says adopting Chelsea saved her from a life of misery”, she told The ENQUIRER.

Chelsea O’Donnell was found in Sheerer’s home Tuesday evening, after being missing since August. 11.

Despite the initial statement from police, Sheerer was arrested at his home Friday.
