Rousey crushes Correia to defend her title at UFC 190

That alone was enough to infuriate the temperamental Rousey. Leading up to the fight in her home country, Correia made a comment seemingly referencing Rousey’s father’s suicide.

She also alluded to her father, who committed suicide when she was eight years old.

I think it’s femininely badass because there’s not a single muscle on my body that isn’t for a goal, because I’m not a do nothing bitch. This left me, as a viewer, as a fan wanting more, especially considering the months of trash talk. “It was great”.

Rousey, whose nickname is “Rowdy“, paid tribute to WWE wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who passed away on Friday, immediately after the fight.

Wearing a red and black jersey of Flamengo, Brazil’s most popular club, Rousey was among the crowd of 61,421 at the famed venue Sunday.

The UFC’s female bantamweight champion scored her 12th stoppage in as many fights early yesterday morning in Rio, plastering Correia with punches and knees for 34 seconds until referee John McCarthy called a halt to the action.

As incredible as the win was, even Rousey admitted afterwards that sometimes she has trouble “absorbing it all“. Correia was overwhelmed, facing a shot that sent her backwards.

“I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once; I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now”, Rousey said. “And that’s exactly what happened”. “I respect and love this guy as much as you do”.

Rousey beat Correia with a flurry of punches, giving her a knockout rather than her signature armbar submission.

From the opening bell, Rousey was on the attack, rushing out of her corner and throwing right hands at Correia. Now you don’t want to stand with her, because she’ll knock you to the ground. She was saying “Don’t cry”.

Rousey’s journey to Rio is a multifaceted decision designed to reach her goals – just like almost everything she does. “And I know she’ll bring in something different every single time, so I’m eager to see what she comes up with this time”. It had been a mere 34 seconds. This is a record in the UFC history. Corriea is looking for a stand-up war and is confident that she can knock Rousey out and get the belt. I think that fight does 2.5 million [pay-per-view] buys. “That is always worth the money”.
